Taste of Minnesota
Saint Paul's 4th of July Holiday Celebration
Capital City Partnership purchased the Taste of Minnesota festival in 1996 and expanded it to create the state’s largest free festival held annually over the 4th of July. The festival became known for food, entertainment, and a nightly fireworks display. Capital City Partnership reinvested proceeds from the Taste in revitalizing and promoting the city.
In January, 2009, the Taste of Minnesota was sold to International Event Management, a locally-based promotion and events company, who plan on building on the existing tradition and strengthening it as one of Minnesota’s signature events.
“Capital City Partnership is very pleased that the new owners are local business people with a vested interest in the long-term success of A Taste of Minnesota,” said John J. Labosky, president and CEO of Capital City Partnership. “I’m confident that this great Minnesota tradition is in very good hands.”
